North Indian Punjabi Chhole (Chana Masala)

Ingredients:

  • White chickpeas (chhole) – 1.5 cups (soaked overnight)

  • Onion – 2 (finely chopped)

  • Tomato – 2 (pureed)

  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp

  • Sachi Chhole Masala – 2 tbsp

  • Turmeric – ½ tsp

  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp

  • Salt – to taste

  • Tea bag – 1 (for color)

  • Oil – 3 tbsp

  • Coriander leaves – for garnish

🔥 Instructions:

  1. Pressure cook soaked chhole with salt and tea bag till soft.

  2. In a pan, heat oil, sauté onions till golden.

  3. Add ginger-garlic paste, tomato puree, turmeric, chilli powder, and Sachi Chhole Masala. Cook till oil separates.

  4. Add cooked chhole and simmer for 15 mins.

  5. Garnish with coriander and serve with bhature or rice.

Sachi Tip: Crush a few chickpeas while simmering for a thicker gravy.
